Harvest Moon

Waxhaw, NC. 2026

My astrophotography skills leave much to be desired.  This is one of quite a few shots I attempted to capture the "Harvest Moon", the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox.

Cross Country Meet

Waxhaw, NC  2026

My grandson, Colin is quite the runner and regularly competes with his Middle School Cross country team.  This is just before the start of the race.

They're off!!

Colin is seen here amongst the leaders as they reached the bottom of the hill.   He's right in the center of the picture.

Another House Portrait

Waxhaw, NC  2026

This newer house is located right next to the house featured in yesterday's post.  While not an historic house, it does look like it belongs in this historic neighborhood.

Modern House

Waxhaw, NC  2026

This house seemed a little out of place in a neighborhood of historic homes.  I'm not sure how one would classify this architecture.

Bamboo

Marvin, NC  2026

I'm not sure how prevalent bamboo is throughout the south eastern US.  I would assume it grows well considering the climate here.  I was surprised to see this stand of bamboo in this park.

Red Shouldered Hawk

Waxhaw, NC  2026

My walk today, disturbed this fellow as he was sitting on the ground just off the trail.  Fortunately he perched here long enough for me to get a few pictures.
