My walk today, disturbed this fellow as he was sitting on the ground just off the trail.  Fortunately he perched here long enough for me to get a few pictures.

The drainage ponds in our community attract geese and ducks.  On a recent walk, I noticed this fellow.  I'm pretty sure it is a juvenile green heron.  I had never seen one before.

To keep up with the demand, we upgraded our hummingbird feeder to a large capacity model.  I think the birds were happy.  This little guy posed a bit for me before flying off.  They are not very cooperative when it comest to posing though.  However they are hungry.  It only took a couple of days for the nectar to reach  the low-levels seen here.

This is my first attempt at trying to photograph these little fellas.  They're pretty quick!!  I definitely need additional practice.

I could be wrong since these small birds are sometimes difficult to tell apart.  I think this is either a female house finch, or a juvenile house finch.

I'm pretty sure this is a chipping sparrow a common bird seen in the Carolinas all year long.
