Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC 2023
Located outside in Antler Village, there is this model train railroad. All throughout the layout were depictions of famous historical sites from around the world. The models represent sites that were visited by George W Biltmore II. Pictured here are the Parthenon, the Coliseum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
What a fun find, Ed. One of the things that makes the Coliseum interesting is that it is partly built of super-concrete which was not reinvented until the modern age. The Romans lucked out using volcanic ash containing chemicals making their concrete way harder than ordinary concrete.
