The Charlotte area continues to grow.  This new medical facility recently opened in the Rea Farms area of Charlotte, a residential, business and retail community.

12 Mile Creek

I've pictured 12 Mile Creek in previous posts.  It collects all the water from the small creeks pictured yesterday and flows into the Catawba River, the main source of for all of our drinking water.

 

Meandering Creek

Storm water runoff from the local neighborhoods eventually fills these little creeks that criss cross the trail I usually walk.  Creeks like this were pretty dry for most of the summer, an indication of the drought we have been experiencing this year.  This water will find its way into 12 Mile Creek.
